Why I chose Design as my career...
I have always loved art. From doodling on a notebook in class to spending hours in a museum admiring brushstrokes and color combinations, art has always fascinated me. It's so personal yet there are so many emotions and so many different ways that one image or one painting can be interpreted.
From a young age, I always knew who I was and who I wanted to be. When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always the same; an artist. I didn't know what kind and I didn't know what I would create but I knew I wanted to create tangible things that could be used and that would leave an impression.
I graduated from the College of Mount Saint Joseph in 2010 with a Bachelors of Art in Graphic Design with a minor in iDesign. I have been working in the printing industry since shortly after graduation and have worked my way up the ranks to a management status. I run a small department within our facility. As much as I love it, I don't have a lot of opportunities for design. So, to fulfill my love of art and computers, I began freelancing in my spare time.
